7 easy steps to becoming an better runner.

We all want the ease of running for it to feel light and free without that horrible panting and heavy feeling with each footstep.

Become a better runner in 7 easy steps✔

  1. Motivate yourself to stay on track by adding a running buddy ~

(friend, dog, kids on bikes or scooters).

  1. Switch up your routine ~

have variation in where you run include: hills, speed, technique, different streets varied terrain all for improved motivation and performance.

  1. Create the perfect running playlist ~

music can boost your run performance by 15%, ensure the beat in the music is your foot speed and allow variation of beat… especially for the finish of your run.

  1. Get into proper form ~

to give you less energy wasting. It can be a simple as arms swing, focus on quiet feet and try to breathe relaxed.

  1. Set goals and don’t quit and be aware of your progress ~

Real goals are important whether they be daily times, longer run, making it to a certain point without stopping or by an allocated time. Ensure you celebrate your progression.

b.truth➡I use a speedo on my lil’ crews bike to help me set goals. They also let me know my speed and of course when I’m lagging, it makes it more fun for all of us.

  1. Transition from walking to running ~ start with regular jogging from small distances. (1minute of running for every 4 minutes) set your watch and every week add 30 seconds longer to the running part or more if you can!

  1. Get the right shoes and comfortable running clothing ~

comfort is key to injury protection✔ How? Well if you are pounding the pavement with incorrect clothing or footwear it creates stress.

Shoes accommodate your body weight as they support you, helping you to feel light and stable. If you are wearing incorrect shoes it causes stress in your muscles, ligament and bones. Get the right shoe for your foot✔

Clothing is just as important as fabrics can rub causing discomfort thus you tend to change your running posture to accommodate this pain/annoyance therefore causing injury.

b.truth➡ my current fave running shoe is @nike Free RN flyknit or Lunar flyknit as seen in image @nikewomen I wear Nike not only because I love the style colour but because they fit my foot perfectly whether it be running, gym or lifestyle.

Health and Happiness always,

b.
